periodic table

 what is a periodic table

The periodic table is organized like a big grid. Each element is placed in a specific location because of its atomic structure. As with any grid, the periodic table has rows (left to right) and columns (up and down). Each row and column has specific characteristics. For example, magnesium (Mg) and calcium(Mg) are found in column two and share certain similarities while potassium (K) and calcium (Ca) from row four share different characteristics. Magnesium and sodium (Na) also share qualities because the are in the same period (similar electron configurations).

why do we use a periodic table

The table is useful for modern students and scientists because it helps predict the types of chemical reactions that are likely for an element. Rather than memorize facts and figures for each element, a quick glance at the table reveals a lot about the reactivity of an element, whether it is likely to conduct electricity, whether it is hard or soft, and many other characteristics.

electron arangements

The number of protons in the atom of an element determines its place in the Periodic Table. The number of electrons in an atom is the same as the number of protons. These electrons are arranged in shells or 'energy levels' around the nucleus. The arrangement of electrons determines the chemical properties of an element.

operation creating ...

operation creating an app

Introduction

hi guys! its me again with an awesome blog post on " operation creating an app ".For the last few weeks in groups of 4 we've being working on a task where we had to create an app  that would benefit an aspect of society - eg health, communication, travel/transport, cycling, an app to help with social anxiety.we used coggle & padlet for conception & design & mind mapping .

this is our  had app info on padlet

this is our mind map

Reflection

We used the  Padlet and Coggle for  planning.  Padlet  is like a planning dashboard. It is very useful for planning your work .it is also very easy to accsess .we can also share with others ant they can edit it.

the other tool we used was cooggle. i think coggle is the best way to build a mind map .It is can be edited by others it has fetures such as you can add branches, colour and add as many as you want . It was hard for me at the beginning but it gets easy when you get instructions.Overoll it is very convinent.

I think my group is the the best group. In my group there are 4 people Roanne,Devie,Ofa and me. we had alot of fun during our planning and mind mapping lesson.we all worked together. The group leader is the most amazing leader. iam excited to make an app.

reflection on humanrights

13/04/18

Reflection

Topics we did in social studies

  • Atlantic slave trade
  • Human Rights
  • Mapping
  • Graphing
  • The Slave Trade Triangle
  • Human Trafficing
  • Child Labour
  • Child soliders
In our social studies class we did some amazing topics through out the term such as child labour, human rights and slave trade triangle and  more.On human rights I learned the 30 rights of a person why they are important .The purpose of human rights.the most intresting part  was to right paragraphs on different human rights.

The second topic was the slave trade triangle. In this topic I've learnt how africans  became slaves and how the slave trade stop and the slave trade triangle passage of trading slaves .I also learnt grapping&mapping in this topic.

for the last few periods of our social studies class we did some research on child lobour, child soliders and human trafficing.in this topic I've learnt why people are forced in child labour and child soliders.
