1. what is Antithesis?
- it literally means "opposite"
- two opposite ideas are put together in a sentence to make a contrasting effect
2. what is its effect?
- shows the comparable structure of the contrasted phrases or clauses in order to draw the attention of the readers and listeners.
- Man proposes, God disposes
- Love is an ideal thing, marriage a real thing.
- Speech is silver, but silence is gold.
